Alexa Blecher

Admissions & Alumni Coordinator

Alexa Blecher works in Admissions at St. John’s Recovery Place (SJRP), bringing nearly seven years of experience in sub-acute treatment settings and five years supporting children and at-risk adolescents with emotional and behavioral challenges in schools. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, is a Certified Expert Interventionist, and has completed two years of master’s-level education in mental health, specializing in behavioral disorders and substance use disorders. Her background includes developing educational and wellness/safety plans, followed by roles as a Case Manager, Group Facilitator, and Director of Admissions.

At SJRP, Alexa helps prospective clients work through fears about entering treatment and explore whether the program fits their needs. She creates space for honest conversations without judgment, explains SJRP’s treatment approach, and guides families as they navigate difficult decisions with their loved ones. Her work helps make the admissions process more understandable during what can be an uncertain and emotional time.

Compassion, dependability, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving shape Alexa’s approach. She meets each person where they are, adapting her support to individual needs. In conversations with clients, families, and coworkers, she wants people to feel heard, seen, and understood. She is especially passionate about helping clients recognize their worth and believe they deserve a healthy, fulfilling life in recovery.

Alexa’s father and her late fiancé, Brandon, inspired her decision to work in this field. Brandon passed away in 2019 after three years of sobriety. Honoring his recovery and sharing his story give her work personal meaning and a way to encourage others to begin their own recovery journeys.

Outside work, Alexa enjoys time with her husband, their son, and their German Shepherd, Thor. Her interests include reading, walks with a favorite podcast, family football Saturdays, and Disney.

Through patient guidance and a commitment to helping people see possibilities for themselves, Alexa supports SJRP’s mission of helping individuals achieve recovery, rebuild their lives, and find renewed purpose.
